What is a broadband bundle?
Broadband bundles are packages that offer broadband along with one or more additional utilities such as home telephone, digital TV and mobile phone.
The popularity of broadband bundles has increased in recent months as internet service providers (ISPs) increasingly offer cheap or even free broadband as part of bundle deals.

What to look out for
It is harder to compare bundles than it is straight-up broadband packages, so it is important to ask yourself a few questions in order to avoid getting lured into an unsuitable bundle.
When choosing a broadband bundle you need to ask the following questions:
"When do I use my home phone most?"
If the answer is "any time outside work hours" then broadband bundles that include evening and weekend calls will save you money.
If, however, your answer is: "I don't really use the landline for making calls", "I mostly make my calls from my mobile phone" or "I only use my home phone to make calls during the day" - then a home phone and broadband bundle may not be the one to go for.
"What TV channels do you and your family/flatmates want to watch the most?"
Many digital TV bundles offer mix-and-match bundles. To avoid paying for channels you may not watch, check exactly which channels are included in the bundle and which will cost you extra.
The two most popular combinations are:
Each broadband bundle is different but here is a quick list of bundles on offer:
- Virgin Media is top of the tree when it comes to broadband bundles, with their cheapest bundle coming in at £5 (including free weekend calls). Virgin Media gets the bundle crown as it is the only ISP to offer quad-packages (broadband, mobile phone, cable TV and landline) to customers.
- BT offer a range of broadband, home phone packages and digital TV (BT Vision) bundles.
- TalkTalk spearheaded the “free broadband” movement, combining broadband with free UK and international, evening and weekend calls (as well as free calls to other TalkTalk customers) in one easy package.
- Tiscali is popular with many customers as it offers simple, easy-to-understand and use broadband and phone packages as well as more comprehensive bundles that include digital TV at extremely competitive prices. -Sky is a great option for combining premium TV content, including Premiership football and movies, and a great broadband service.
