T-Mobile Share Dock hits the shops
Posted 21st November 2008 at 10:00am by Alex Buttle
T-Mobile has launched its new Share Dock device, allowing up to three mobile broadband users to share the same connection.
Subscribers signing up to a 18-month contract on a £20 per month tariff will be handed the gadget absolutely free.
The Share Dock works much in the same way as a wireless router for a fixed-line connection, sharing a user's connection via a computer's Wi-Fi frequency.
"We engage with our customers to continually improve and provide them with exactly the service they want," said Richard Warmsley, head of internet and entertainment at T-Mobile UK.
He went on: "One of the key insights that came back from users was the desire to share the connection with friends and relatives. The Share Dock makes this a reality in a straight forward and simple way."
The latest quarterly figures from T-Mobile show that the operator's mobile broadband device sales grew by 35 per cent over a three-month period.
