Don't download abroad, warns expert

Downloading content while abroad could prove to be extremely expensive for many mobile broadband subscribers, according to one expert.
Michael Phillips, Product Director at Broadband Choices, was speaking in the wake of research from Broadband Expert.
The broadband comparison site found that while data usage inside the European Union could cost as little as 20p per Mb, outside the zone charges can be as high as £7.50 for the same amount.
"Many mobile broadband customers have been stung by unexpected costs for exceeding their limit - and abroad roaming costs can even add up into the thousands," said Mr Phillips.
He went on to warn: "Our advice is don't download a film or TV programme when abroad."
A British man was initially charged nearly £22,000 after downloading several shows to his laptop via a mobile broadband connection while on a foreign ski holiday.
