BT has confirmed that work is still taking place to restore broadband connections in some parts of London following an accident at the Olympic site in Stratford.

Third-party contractors damaged cables providing a number of services on April 4th.

Although work started almost immediately to restore landline and broadband services, the depth of the tunnel where the cables run means that some customers are still without services.

Around 200 subscribers are thought to be without broadband connections and mobile phone coverage has also been affected.

According to the Register, Vodafone customers are experiencing problems with some services in Kent and Hertfordshire interrupted.

The mobile operator and broadband provider has informed customers that it is working with BT to solve the problems and repair the damaged cables.

BT Openreach's latest update on the incident explained that the complexity of the work and the depth of the tunnel mean that the firm is "still unable to give an exact timeframe for all services to be fully restored".
