South West Internet shortlisted for top broadband award

South West Internet CiC is in the final list of firms nominated for one of the Internet Industry Awards.
The wireless internet service provider (ISP) has made it into the shortlist for the Corporate Social Responsibility Award.
The ISP's nomination is largely thanks to the work it does to ensure rural companies in Somerset have access to broadband.
Due to take place in London on July 9th, the awards are organised by the Internet Services Providers' Association and will be held at the Grosvenor Marriott Hotel.
Tim Snape, South West Internet's Managing Director, told thisisthewestcountry.co.uk that the ISP is thrilled to have been shortlisted.
"We are proud and excited to reach the finals, as the award is for the company whose policies have had the most positive effect on society," he said.
Rupert Cox, interim Chief Executive of inward investment body Into Somerset, added: "Some businesses can obtain faster broadband speeds through Somersets wireless internet network than those in London. It's no wonder that Somerset has one of the UK's highest broadband take-up rates and the best in the West."
