Business broadband partnership for Be and Fluidata
Posted 1st July 2009 at 9:24am by Kimberley Howson
Internet service provider Be Broadband has signed a contract with telecoms company Fluidata to offer a new wholesale business service.
Thanks to the partnership, wholesale broadband suppliers will be able to grant businesses access to Be's ADSL2+ network, which offers speeds of up to 24Mb for downloads and 2.6Mb for uploads.
Fluidata has designed a special protocol layer that will aid in the wholesale delivery of new business broadband services.
Tom Williams, Operations Director at Be, noted: "By partnering with Fluidata, Be is now able to offer a wholesale platform for the entire telecoms industry, particularly to carriers engaged in providing services to businesses."
As well as offering new products and services for business customers, the platform will also provide wholesalers with a full UK support team, online ordering and XML integration.
It makes use of Annex-M technology, which is already available at more than 1,200 exchanges across the UK.
ISP BT, which owns most of the UK's telephone service infrastructure, is in the process of rolling out ADSL2+ as part of its 21st Century Network upgrade programme.
