BT reveals involvement in Children in Need
Posted 19th November 2009 at 3:05pm by Kimberley Howson
Digital TV and broadband provider BT has announced it is undertaking "an essential and integral" part of the BBC's Children in Need initiative.
The company has revealed that, for the first time, its online platform eDonate is being used by all call centres to both record and process pledges made to the major scheme, which will take place tomorrow (November 20th).
According to the broadband provider, the facility which is based on its web infrastructure - has processed almost £100 million of donations since it was first used as part of the drive in 2002.
Beth Courtier, Community Investment Programme Manager at BT, said: "The show is live and BBC Children in Need relies on the BT infrastructure and its people to deliver on the night.
"BT supports charity telethons because this is where we can use our expertise to help make a difference to those in need."
Details of the plans have come after BT Business recently launched a trial of fibre-optic broadband services in the Halfway area of Glasgow.
