Converged offering increased bandwidth to energy firms
Posted 13th November 2009 at 9:20am by Kimberley Howson
Converged Communication Solutions is to offer ADSL2+ broadband to global businesses working in the energy sector, it has announced.
Firms operating in the oil and gas sector will now be able to benefit from increased bandwidth and faster internet connection speeds, the independent broadband provider says.
Converged will start rolling out the next-generation of broadband service to new and existing clients from this month, offering benefits including increased efficiency for remote working and enhanced collaboration facilities such as video conferencing.
Neil Christie, Technical Director at the firm, said ADSL2+ will allow users to obtain more bandwidth for little or no extra outlay.
He added: "Existing services including email traffic, web browsing, downloads and uploads will be quicker, with newer services on the internet, such as video streaming, becoming more accessible.
"I believe it will enhance our clients' productivity by offering greater speed and flexibility."
The Aberdeen-based firm will be the first independent Scottish ISP to offer ADSL2+ broadband services, it claims.
