Ruckus launches new wireless broadband model
Posted 18th November 2009 at 9:15am by Kimberley Howson
Ruckus Wireless claims its new end-to-end managed, wireless broadband access (WBA) solution is the first of its kind.
According to the broadband provider, the service offers a cost-effective, "build-as-you-grow" model for offering broadband data services in developing urban environments.
The firm says that Ruckus WBA deploys reliable wireless coverage and capacity at the lowest possible cost per bit, addressing demand for high-speed data services that WiMAX cannot meet.
"Delivering WiMAX performance and reliability at Wi-Fi prices with technology that's ready today is something this market has been waiting for," said Ken Biba, Chief Technology Officer at strategic consulting firm Novarum.
He added: "Introducing an end-to-end Wi-Fi solution that can deliver such capabilities will change the broadband wireless landscape."
Ruckus Wireless was this week named 2009 Tech Innovator Company of the Year by Everything Channel's CRN Test Centre.
