The city is located in the South East of the country and has a population of around 8 million. It is one of the shopping capitals of the world offering high end designer brands in Bond Street and Knightsbridge, quirky independent boutiques in Covent Garden and Carnaby Street and the bustle of High Street chain stores in Oxford Street. Culture lovers will find no shortage of diversions from catching an opera or show in the West End, to exploring art at the Tate Gallery or Victoria and Albert Museum. London's nightlife is famed the world over and nightclubs, bars and restaurants are located all over the city.
Staying in London
Accommodation is located all over the city and there is something to suit every budget. Knightsbridge May Fair and Park Lane are renowned for their five star luxury hotels but medium range hotels can be found throughout including Bayswater and Marylebone Road as well as focused around major over ground rail stations such as Waterloo, Paddington and Kings Cross. A number of budget hotels have sprung up in recent times but early booking is advisable as these are much sought after.
