About Los Angeles
Los Angeles, often abbreviated to LA and nicknamed The City of Angels (Los Angeles is Spanish for 'The Angels'). Hollywood has become the entertainment capital creating intrigue among people worldwide. Many tourists go there to try and catch a glimpse of their favourite star whilst tours which seek out celebrity homes remain ever popular. Rodeo Drive and Grauman's Chinese Theatre will make you feel like you've walked straight onto a film set yourself. LA is a sprawling metropolis and you are within easy reach of a number of stunning beaches including Santa Monica and its famous pier. You can also escape to the quieter suburbs, places like Pasadena offer a more laid back feel whilst still being near to the action.
Staying in Los Angeles
You really do have a massive choice of accommodation in Los Angeles. There are hotels everywhere you look and you can find everything from value properties to the ultra hip. Because LA is such a huge city, you'll want to consider your location. Those headed for Disneyland will want to be in Anaheim whilst star spotters should stay in West Hollywood. If you are after a more chilled out West Coast experience, head out to Malibu or Venice beach with its boutiques and restaurants.
Getting around Los Angeles
Generally people don't walk in Los Angeles. A car is really an essential although taxis are plentiful. This also gives you the freedom to get out and explore. If you get the opportunity to drive along the Pacific Coast Highway you'll be rewarded with views that will last a lifetime.
