  1. Inception

    Inception

When everyone started to rave about the latest Leonardo DiCaprio film, I didn’t want to be the last person in on the secret so went to find out for myself. In my mind, I thought it was an action thriller but it in fact focuses on a small group of people who have the ability to sneak into people’s dreams and create their own, sometimes with painful consequences. I wish I could explain more, but this one is a thinker and you need to pay full attention in order to understand it – I only got it in the last five minutes.

  2. Toy Story 3

    Toy Story 3

This has got to be the most anticipated film release of the year so far, and as someone who wasn’t all that into the other Toy Story movies, the third was more than impressive. I am not sure if it was the adult innuendo (gay cross-dressing Ken) that made it really funny, or the 3D technology that added something, but it has been my favourite film this year. It seems that way at the Box Office too, because worldwide it has made over $1billion in less than four months.

  3. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1

This was the most anticipated film of 2010 and I saw it as soon as it came out. I loved it and can’t wait for part 2.

  4. The Social Network

    The Social Network

Provoked several 'if they made a film of our company who would play me?' conversations in our office. Personally I'd like to be played by Beyonce since Justin Timberlake was in this one...

  5. Alice in Wonderland

    Alice in Wonderland

Don’t gasp at me, but I am not one of Johnny Depp’s admirers, in looks and films, so I had to be dragged to the cinema to see the Tim Burton adaptation of Alice in Wonderland. Luckily, I thought my trip and a crisp £10 note was worth it. Admittedly, it is much darker than the original and Depp’s appearance as the Mad Hatter is quite scary, much like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but it is very creative and colourful. It is especially clever how the story has moved on from the original and Alice is older, but not wiser!

  6. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

    The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

The Twilight films should not work and the concept of a vampire movie working in the 21st century is a dated one, but miraculously it does, and really, really well! I think the success lies with the fact that it is not a horror and that it is rather saucy! It set a new record for biggest midnight opening in the United States and Canada in box office history, grossing an estimated $30 million in over 4,000 theaters. Combining gorgeous actors, romance and steamy tension, Eclipse makes the perfect first date movie.

  7. Devil

    Devil

I love and have seen every one of M. Night Shyamalan’s films and this one didn’t disappoint. I don’t want to give away the ending, but a great twist as usual.

  8. Despicable Me

    Despicable Me

I LOVE this film. Animated nonsense at it's absolute best. Just enough squeaky yellow characters to keep kids entertained but also some subtle adult jokes thrown in to keep the grown-ups happy. Or maybe I just have a really childish sense of humour??

  9. Scott Pilgrim - Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

Scott Pilgrim - Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

This film is simply nuts. A whirlwind of modern film techniques wrapped up in a fantastic coming of age plot with like-able multi faceted characters.

  10. Skyline

    Skyline

This was a really unusual film and not what I expected at all. Saying that I thought I was really well made and was left open for a sequel.
