At ten is something that does exactly what is says on the tin. This is an interactive map of London’s famous underground system with the added benefits of being alerted of any delays or service disruptions. I find this very useful when pushing through the city to try and get to a film screening. It also helps you find alternative routes when stuck behind a delayed line. Very helpful and a great way to kick of the Iphone countdown which I will now name the Iten.

In at Isix is an App I have on my Xbox, Laptop and my Iphone because I love it so much. The Last FM site is one of my favourite sites on my bookmarks tab and it because I love music more than most would care to think and being able to access thousands of artists, be able to create play lists, update my own profile with every listen and do it all for free. The App is the same as the website and the Scrobbler is a great addition with it’s ability to add your music to your list as you listen and all the while recommending similar artists. It’s a piece of genius and if you’re a music lover like me then I suggest you sign up now as it will open the door to thousands of artists you never knew existed.

At Ifive is a newspaper. Yes I’m that boring that I have Tubemaps, train services and a newspaper on my Iphone rather than the strobe light, shotgun or avatar designer, but The Guardian is packed with great updates on a day to day basis. The ability to find out up to the minute news, scroll through the days pages and read Charlie Brooker’s column whilst on the move is just an incredible thing to do. Especially when I believe mister Charlton Brooker is a genius and could be the more media based love child of Bill Hicks and Chris Morris. A must have for any intellectual show off, like me.

Simply put this is the most addictive thing on my Iphone. I tweet all the time and I know I shouldn’t as some of the stuff I blurt out is utter nonsense and, sometimes, offensive, sorry mum. But this App is brilliant because of it’s simplicity and ability to get you hooked. Feel like telling the world what’s on your shopping list? Just click the tab, type it in and send, it’s so quick, easy to use and, well, silly enough to appreciate in the childish way of wanting everyone to know what you’re doing all the time. Some people are such attention seekers… that’s actually my next tweet, ironic?

Caution only download the UK version of this App. It wont work if you buy the US version. This App is fantastic and a great addition to the Iten with it utilising the Iphone’s built in camera; if you see a product you like the look of in a DVD store but are not sure of the price you can take a photo of it, upload it to the Amazon App and it will know what it is, find the best price from the site’s many sellers and allow you to add it to your list so when you get home you can access it and buy immediately. This is great over the Christmas period and I have to say it saved my life when finding my fiancé a Birthday present a few months ago, as she would have literally killed me if I hadn’t had found the perfect camera…She’s nice though, honestly, bar the waist harnessed Katana blade.
At Ione is the best App available at the moment, in my opinion of course. Empire magazine is my favourite publication and I buy it each month and what better way to keep up to date with movie news, features, future issues and the ultimate movie guide then with the best movie magazine on you Iphone? There isn’t one. This is an amazing App with tons of advantages to any other film based competitors with the ease of use and ability to search for future films, actors, reviews and share what you find on Twitter. If you’re a film fan then I urge you to buy this App. It will change your life…well, it will keep you informed on the best movies and keep you posted on movie news, in terms of life saving I’d ask you don’t put that to the test. Thank you.

I love designing and have done for many years and so when I knew I could download an App that let me edit and manipulate my Iphone’s dodgy camera captures, yes I have to admit the camera is shoddy, I was delighted. Photoshop is the industry standard design software for a good reason and so having a ‘Lite’ version for the Iphone is incredible and a lot of fun for anyone wishing to turn their snaps into something a bit more special. I found turning some snaps of my friends into Warhol styled Jpegs and then sending them to my laptop a great addition to the medium.

In my day to day life I walk a lot. I don’t own a car and so find myself walking for miles at a time, especially when avoiding the Tube and walking through London, try it, it’s fun…not. So I downloaded this App as it’s a good way to see how much walking you really achieve every day. I once managed, on a day off, to walk ten miles just going round my house, to town, walking to the beach and going to visit the future parents-in-law. On a working day I can walk double that and not notice. The App tells you all sorts from how much potential energy you’ve used to the distance travelled in feet, meters and miles. It’s very useful and a great way to get some futuristic exercise.

I found this very handy during the World Cup, before England were kicked out of course, with having updates on Sky Sports, TV listings and being able to set record for your favourite shows whilst on the move, having your account linked to your Sky+ HD box. This is great when you’re out and about and happen to hear of a show you will miss due to work. You just open the App, find the show and click record, then when you get home it’s there waiting. Love this App.

More of a website plug-in than an app it’s still very useful and works hand in hand with the Tubemap App. This is great when trying to get updates, book tickets or check availability for last minute journeys. Only irritating thing is the interface can be slow and difficult to navigate through but other than that a great App that’s more about use than making your Iphone sound like a Light Sabre.
