Maybe it’s because I’m English and it’s really close, but there is something undeniably amazing about Paris. The language, the culture, the fashion, the elegance… like Italy but with less mopeds and better wine.

Home of truly incredible food, large measures of spirits and stunning Gaudi architecture around the gothic quarter. Culture, art and beauty.

A classic, but a classic for a reason. Steeped in history, fine food, fine wines, a beautiful language and cheap return fares on EasyJet.

The Czechs are great people and the food and culture is superb - despite the stag do popularity this city is still a nice antidote to typical Europe. It also has loads of absinthe and a church made of skulls (handy for the Goths)

Nothing will prepare you for how astounding Tokyo is when viewed by night from a really tall hotel room - just breathtaking. A city that is unlike anywhere you have ever been before.

By Gondola, the canals of Venice are unparalleled for romance. A breathtaking city on many levels (Moonraker not being one of them) and seriously notable for its complete lack of cars.

At first this sounds mental but I was dating a particle physicist once and I took her to Chernobyl and she thought it was the most romantic thing that had ever happened to her, but then again she was addicted to Fallout and sometimes dressed up like Mad Max. I’m not sure what my point is.

The big apple = a big win for Valentine's trips. It's a bit hackneyed but the horses in central park are wicked, the people love the English and it has an unrivalled mix of artistic temperament and big city attitude.

Heading towards the East of Europe again, this time for more incredible architecture, great food and really, really cool people.

Brilliant museums, brilliant galleries, and a feel very much like Prague only with an insane Scandinavian twist. Go for the meatballs and lingenberries. Avoid the pickled herring.
