  1. Paris

    Paris

Yes, while it seems obligatory and perhaps even a little trite, no list of top 10 romantic cities would be complete without Paris, France. The French capital has had a long-held image of being a romantic hot spot and, while its image has faded somewhat in recent years, it is still a great place to go for couples. Vive le France!

  2. New York

    New York

While this huge metropolis has seen better days, it still has a certain romantic allure for those looking to spark a little romance in America's most populous city. There is no shortage of things to do in NYC, from Broadway plays to carriage rides Central Park to taking in a sporting event. And don't forget the panoramic view from the Empire State Building, fancy restaurants, and live performances at Carnegie Hall.

  3. Rome

    Rome

"Rome wasn’t built in a day.” It sure does take more than just a day to experience the amazingly seductive city that is Rome. A week in Rome is life changing to a romantic couple; it can either spark creativity in a relationship or make it entirely stronger on an affectionate level. I suppose it’s the culture of Italy and when you have time to explore it in depth, it really takes you in deeply and inspires you to love, appreciate and admire. If you take your partner to Rome, expect to have a much stronger and sensual relationship. Maybe there is something in the air? Who knows? However, it’s quite clear to say that Rome is extremely beautiful and romantic.

  6. Prague

    Prague

While Czechoslovakia was a Soviet satellite state, nobody gave much thought about traveling to Prague at all--much less for a romantic vacation. However, since the fall of Soviet-style Communism, Prague (and the Czech Republic) have come into their own. This picturesque city is spell-binding and surprisingly modern--a perfect blend of the old world with the conveniences of the twenty-first century.

  7. Amsterdam

    Amsterdam

Although Amsterdam is commonly known for its herbal green and open-minded red light district, once you get over all of that, it’s actually quite a romantic city. Last year, I had the opportunity to take my girlfriend to a romantic adventure in Amsterdam for the day. Once we boarded the over-night ferry and delved deep into the heart of the city, we fell in love with it. We spent the entire day getting lost in the city and exploring the river with a 2-man canal. It was indeed a beautiful and romantic experience.

  8. Vienna

    Vienna

Not many people think about Austria when they think "romantic", but that's a shame. The capital city of Vienna is one of the most cultured destinations on Earth, boasting an annual Mozart music festival, some of the world's most dramatic architecture, and cuisine that is sure to have you begging for more.

  10. Verona

    Verona

One of the seven provincial capitals in Italy, Verona is bursting with culture and romance. This city was once home to Leonardo da Vinci, and was a favorite vacation hotspot for none other than Julius Caesar. The Roman and Medieval architecture make the perfect backdrop for any romantic outing and the food, music, and culture are second-to-none.
