I'm not a huge TV fan, but the few shows I really like, I love. Here's my personal top 10 US TV shows o all time.

Ratings-wise, clearly not as successful as Matt Groening's other masterpiece (see below), but in the end this series is perhaps the funniest I've ever watched on TV. The fact that it has well built characters, a sci-fi setting and some great, if scarce, tear-jerking moments only help to build the perfect TV show for me.

Coming up with a completely unconventional kind of humor, Arrested Development is a true gem. No pre-recorded laughs, no conventional sitcom humor... just pure goodness in a more smirk oriented humor than a laugh out loud way (although it does have it's laugh out loud moments). Great series; too bad they cancelled it early.

I love mysteries. True, those in House follow a very rigid formula and all, but they're still tons of fun to watch. Plus, the character development in the series is only surpassed by Lost (see below), and I absolutely love some well-rounded characters.

An animated series where they can make fun of current events due to their short production time. This always keeps South Park in the edge, unlike most any other animated show. That it also features great humor, albeit also some crude jokes thrown in (which are usually also funny, I must admit) makes this a laugh out loud funny series, and the best one I've watched, at that.

It would be impossible not to include the single series that has lasted 22 years (and counting). It has lasted that long for a good reason, after all. And even if recent seasons (say, since 12 years ago or so) are not as funny as the first ones, it's still tons of fun to watch.

This is the only classic show on my list, because it's the only classic TV show I can still watch and thoroughly enjoy. True, the jokes aren't as funny anymore, but you still smirk to Don Adams' great antics.

The single best detective TV show ever conceived. I guess it has to do with the focus on trying to understand how the criminal mind works, or it might be that the mysteries are really well thought, and you can't see them coming from a mile away (like in most detective shows throughout history). I guess it's both that make this a great mystery show.

And speaking of mysteries...
A show with the greatest character development I ever watched, and with a nail-biting constant sensation of "what on Earth is going on here?". Great show, only harmed by some few scattered bad episodes, and the fact that you need to watch sequentially in order to figure out what is going on (or at least pretend to).

I've only recently started watching this, but it's a great show. Talk about drama! Great characters, and a subject I personally don't enjoy, but somehow keeps me wanting to watch it again.

True, the last seasons were a huge downer, but for the most part, this show was a great mix of comedy and drama.
