How Does it Work?

• Take your impressions and send them back

The kit will come with detailed instructions on how to take your impressions. Follow these instructions to avoid rejected impressions due to poor quality. Basma sends a return label, so you don’t have to pay for return shipping.

• Assess and confirm your treatment plan

An orthodontist will review your case, and if you are a proper candidate for the aligners, Basma will create a customized treatment plan complete with a 3D rendering of your teeth. Review this plan and approve it to continue. 

• Receive your aligners and start treatment 

Basma will create custom-made aligners to fit your treatment plan and ship them out. You should receive the set within 20 days of confirmation. Basma aligners need to be worn for 22 hours a day, only being removed to eat and be cleaned.

• Use chewies for better placement and fit

Chewies are used to create a better fit to your teeth. After inserting the aligner, you’ll put the chewie tabs in between your teeth. Chew these tabs with your teeth, moving them from one side to the next, and then remove them. 

• Check-in

Once a month, you’ll be required to upload photos of your teeth. Then a licensed orthodontist will review your case and make sure you are progressing properly. Basma will also send you email reminders to change to your next aligner in the set.

Treatment on average runs 4-6 months. Once treatment is completed, you’ll wear your retainer to maintain the results. 

Pricing

Basma is one of the more affordable clear aligner options in the UK. You can pay the entire sum upfront or break down your balance into monthly payments. Unfortunately, Basma only lets you break it up into five monthly payments, while other services allow you to stretch it out over a year. But because Basma is cheaper than some other competitors, you may not need as long to pay it off. 

Initially, you’ll pay £9 for the impressions kit. If you order your aligners, the money is put towards the total amount. And if you don’t order your aligners kit, then you’ll be refunded the £9. Normal impressions kit pricing is £15. 

If you opt to pay out the sum in installments, it’ll cost you £1325. So it’s only slightly higher and well worth the small increase for the convenience of paying it out over five months.
