Global Home Protection Plan Pricing (Plan Pricing, Service Fees)
The provider claims its average premium is $699 per year but points out that a range of discounts is available for senior citizens and veterans. When we called for a quote on a single-family dwelling with a Texas zip code, we received the below offer.

If you pay for your plan on an annual basis, you’ll also receive an additional month of coverage for free. Overall, we found these prices lower than many of its competitors.
When you file a claim, you’ll also need to pay a service fee: either to Global Home Protection or directly to the contractor who visits your home. Beginning at just $45, these fees are far lower than those of many other home warranty providers.
If you’re not satisfied with the service, Global Home Protection will offer you a 30-day money-back guarantee.
How to file a claim with Global Home Protection
If you need to make a claim, you, your agents, or your tenants can do so over the phone or online 24/7. Note, you’ll need to file a request within 24 hours of discovering the issue for the item to be covered.
After receiving the details of your claim, the provider will contact a tradesperson on your behalf within 2 business days. An approved contractor will then get in touch with you during business hours to arrange a visit to your home.
Although Global Home Protection isn’t an emergency service provider, it will attempt to expedite urgent cases.
Once the repairs have been completed, Global Home Protection will guarantee the work for 90 days on part and 30 days on labor.
The following payout caps will apply:
- Septic tank pumping: $200
- Appliance, plumbing, electrical repair/replacement: $3,000
- Additional items coverage/add-ons: $400
- Freon coverage: $10 per lb (maximum $200)
- Out-of-pocket expenses on any and all claims, judgments, and awards for dispute resolution: $1,500
The terms and conditions of your plan may vary depending on the state you live in.
Is Global Home Protection Legit?
As the provider has been in business for just 1 year, there are few online reviews by which to gauge levels of customer satisfaction. One plus point is that it is accredited by the Better Business Bureau.
What’s Unique About Global Home Protection?
Although most home warranty companies provide broadly similar services, we were impressed to see the low service call-out fees offered by Global Home Warranty. Beginning at just $45, these are far lower than the industry standard. Likewise, the provider's 90-day guarantee on parts is more generous than that of many competitors.
Help and Support
If you need to make a claim, you can do so online or over the phone 24/7. If your query is more general, you can also contact the company over email via its social media channels.
When we contacted the provider by email over a weekend, we received a detailed and friendly response within 36 hours.
You could also consult the FAQs on the provider’s website, which offer detailed answers on the plans’ terms and conditions. The website also has a blog that is updated monthly and focuses on topics relevant to home maintenance, such as appliance repair.
What about the Global Home Protection app?
Global Home Protection doesn’t currently have an app.
How to Get Started with Global Home Protection
If you’d like to request a quote, you can do so by entering your name, address, and zip code into an online quote tool, as well as selecting your preferred plan type.
At this stage, you’ll receive a call from one of the provider’s agents, who will discuss your options. Although we found the online quote tool simple to navigate, we would have preferred to have a quote displayed online rather than receiving a call from the company.
Your coverage will begin 30 days after the receipt of your fees and continue for 365 days after the start date.
How Global Home Protection Compares to Other Home Warranty Services
Global Home Protection’s premiums tend to be lower than those of many of its competitors when its current discounts are taken into account. In terms of service fees and claims availability, we found the provider to be in line with industry standards.

Global Home Protection vs ServicePlus Home Warranty
If you’re looking for low premiums, Global Home Protection is at an advantage over its competitor, with prices of $299-$699 compared with ServicePlus’ $419-$756. When we obtained our quotes, both companies were offering free coverage to new customers—1 month in the case of Global and 2 months for ServicePlus. In terms of service fees, Global Home Protection is a clear winner, with its prices beginning at $45, while ServicePlus quoted us a fee of $75. Although both companies allow you to make claims 24/7 online or over the phone, neither allows you to manage your account via an app.
Global Home Protection vs Select Home Warranty
Based on offers in August 2021, Global Home Protection is easily the cheaper of the 2 providers in terms of base premiums—$299-$699 vs Select’s $404.99-$756. If you pay for your coverage upfront, however, Select will offer a discount of up to $150 and 2 months of free coverage. If you’re looking for a large network of contractors, Global Home Protection could be right for you, working with more than 40,0000 tradespeople compared with Select’s 10,000. Both providers allow you to make claims 24/7 online or over the phone.
Global Home Protection vs The Home Service Club
Global Home Protection offers significantly lower premiums than The Home Service Club—$299-$699 vs $552-$799. However, The Home Service could offer more than $75 off your annual coverage and a month’s free coverage if you pay upfront. Unlike many of its competitors (including Global Home Protection), The Home Service Club doesn’t offer 24/7 phone service, which could be an issue if a vital appliance or system were to fail outside business hours. When it comes to the number of contractors in their network, Global Home Protection is also at an advantage as its network of 40,000 is far larger than The Service’s Club’s 15,000.
The Bottom Line
Global Home Protection offers an affordable solution for those looking to protect the systems and appliances in their home. We were particularly impressed by its service fees, which began at $45 and are far lower than many others in the industry. The provider will also guarantee the parts on its repairs for a 90-day period, which is much more generous than many of its competitors. Although Global Home Protection doesn’t have an app, this is not uncommon with providers of this type.
