Birch guarantees to deliver mattresses within 5-7 business days after the order has been placed. For shipping, the mattress is compressed gently, rolled up, and boxed. The box dimensions are 42” x 19.5” x 19.5” and it is delivered via FedEx Ground.

While it’s not a strict requirement for you to be home at the time of delivery, the FedEx delivery person reserves the right to hold the package until they get your signature.

Birch items ship separately (i.e., mattress, pillow, topper), and you will receive a FedEx tracking number via email after each item ships.

To unbox your Birch mattress, open the lid of the box and place it on its side. Pull the bed out of the box—you will see a plastic tab that you can pull on, which will unroll the mattress from the packaging. Then place the mattress on the surface or base that you will be sleeping on. (Birch recommends using a bunkie board with a box spring as a foundation, or any support system with firm, flat slats that are no wider than 5 inches apart.)

Then, carefully cut off the final layer of plastic with scissors. It takes about 1-2 hours for the mattress to unwind and expand to its full size.
