Services Covered
In addition to local and long-distance moving services, Native Van Lines provides corporate relocation, car shipping services, packing/unpacking, and storage. As a brokerage, Native connects you with local providers for these services as needed, and not every service is guaranteed to be available in your area.
Local Moving: Any move within the same state, regardless of distance, is considered a local move. Since local moves are more straightforward from a licensing standpoint, and more companies are willing to take them on, they are usually far cheaper than long-distance moves (any type of move that crosses state lines). This, combined with Native’s competitive bidding process, ensures you will have the best rate on your local move.
Long-Distance Moving: If you need to move across state lines, Native Van Lines can connect you with a professional, white-glove long-distance moving company licensed in both your state and the destination state. White-glove movers handle your items with the utmost care and attention and only employ trained professionals.
Packing/Unpacking: The movers in Native’s network offer professional packing/unpacking services at an additional cost. If you pay for these services, the movers will pack and load your belongings and unload and unpack them at the destination.
Corporate Relocation: In addition to residential homes, Native can connect you with local movers to relocate your corporate office. Optionally, you can request packing/unpacking, move planning, and delivery of boxes and other moving supplies for your corporate move.
Storage: Native Moving offers both long- and short-term storage solutions. All storage areas are climate controlled, alarmed, monitored, and maintained to Native’s A+ standards of cleanliness. Unlike its moving services, storage services are provided directly by Native through its network of facilities across the United States.
Vehicle Shipping: Native offers door-to-door vehicle delivery, terminal-to-terminal vehicle delivery, and both open and enclosed car shipping. With open shipping, your vehicle will be exposed to outside elements like snow and dust. While this might be fine for a regular car, it is best to choose enclosed shipping if you are shipping a classic or luxury vehicle.
Pricing
Native is a brokerage, so its pricing will vary significantly based on the local market in your area. One of the advantages of using a brokerage like Native, especially in an area with many nearby moving companies, is that you will usually get a lower price. This is because Native will offer your business to different local movers and pick the offer with the best rate.
After you fill in some basic information, a Native Van Lines representative will call you to provide the full details of your quote, including multiple options from movers in your area, if applicable.
When we spoke with Native Van lines on the phone regarding a quote for a long-distance move from Washington State to California, I was quoted a minimum of $3500. The rep specified that while the move price is likely to remain at that minimum, it could change. The main factor that could drive up the price was an above-average square footage, while distance was not a major factor.
Final pricing will be determined on a pay-as-you go basis with the mover, and Native would not lock in a final quote.
When I tried to get a quote for several different local moves, my requests were forwarded to iMoving.com, another aggregator like Native. While Native handles some local move requests, many of them appear to be forwarded to this provider instead. iMoving is a reputable brokerage similar to Native Van Lines and stands out for its range of options and transparent quoting process.
Moving Process
To begin, enter your name, phone number, and email into Native Van Lines’ quote tool. You’ll need to specify the date of your move along with the starting and destination zip codes. Native Van Lines will then reach out to you by phone or email to verify the details of your move and provide a quote.
If you are satisfied with your quote, all you need to do is wait for the specified moving date. You can also choose from several add-on services, including full-service packing, fragile-only packing, loading and unloading, and storage. You can contact Native by phone, email, or online chat throughout your move to receive assistance.
With packing/unpacking, you can opt for partial or full service. For example, you can request the movers’ help with the heaviest or most fragile items while handling the rest of the unpacking yourself for a reduced quote.
Once the move is complete, you will receive a final quote. If you have questions about your quote or would like to provide feedback, you can give Native a call at 888-809-1249.
Fleet Details
Native does not have its own fleet. Instead, it connects you with movers who have the appropriate vehicle to fit your needs. Most moving companies will have the truck or van required to transport your belongings if it's a regular residential move. If you need vehicle transport, heavy equipment transport, or transport for fragile or antique furniture, notify Native Van Lines in your initial call. It will attempt to match you with a mover whose fleet can handle your special request.
Customer Service
You can contact Native by phone at 888-809-1249, by email at info@nativevanlines.com, or via the online chat on its website. Online chat is available 24/7, while the phone line operates from 9 am to 7 pm Monday to Friday and 9 am to 5 pm on Saturdays.
Native does not offer any guarantees or insurance products for residential moves. You will need to inquire directly with the moving company if you want to insure your belongings.
For corporate clients, however, Native Van Lines offers Full Value Protection, an insurance product that covers your belongings in the event of damage. Basic Full Value Protection is included in every corporate moving package, while Comprehensive coverage can be bought for an additional cost. Speak to your Native Van Lines representative about the details of your coverage, including premiums, coverage amounts, and the claims process.
