Bambee HR at a Glance
What is Bambee HR?
Bambee HR is an outsourced human resources and payroll solution. It offers dedicated HR managers and payroll software to help your small business manage its workforce, comply with regulations, and process its staff payments.
Small business owners can struggle with employee recruitment, onboarding, management, and termination. They also have to follow the guidelines laid out by state, federal, and industry officials to avoid getting into legal trouble. Furthermore, employees need professional work environments with HR policies guiding the company culture if they are to perform well at their jobs.
Bambee HR enables businesses to handle all those challenges and more. It will help you keep accurate records of your employees, track performance and productivity, schedule training to keep workers productive, and give staff a platform to share their concerns.
Bambee HR features
Bambee HR has several features available that may work well for your business:
Dedicated HR manager
Bambee HR’s main selling point is assigning you a certified HR manager to handle your business’s HR needs. Bambee’s HR managers have years of experience and can operate in all 50 states, meaning you’ll get an expert who understands local regulations.
HR management
Bambee’s platform enables you to create and implement policies on issues like paid time off (PTO). You can use the Smart Cabinets feature to store all your essential documents to comply with federal and state laws on record keeping. Bambee’s service also offers employee onboarding, management, and training. There’s even a chat feature to enable employees to speak to the HR manager.
Payroll processing
Bambee has a payroll add-on with built-in HR support, two-day direct deposits, automatic tax filing, and other solutions like employee misclassification protection.
Employee Voices
Bambee’s Employee Voices feature empowers workers to publicly or anonymously highlight issues affecting them. It makes it possible for you to understand what they’re going through and address their problems—thereby boosting morale.
Compliance management
The experts at Bambee HR will audit your HR policies and resolve any gaps. They’ll establish guidelines to keep your company compliant with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. The HR manager will also coach you when terminating an employee to ensure you stay compliant and limit the possibility of lawsuits. Furthermore, the platform streamlines your payroll to prevent the mistakes that initiate IRS audits.
Is Bambee HR Safe and Reliable?
Bambee HR has the Norton Secured seal. This mark—powered by digital security company DigiCert—shows a company’s commitment to protecting customer data. Bambee uses secure 256-bit SSL encryption, which is considered bank-level security.
Bambee HR has a high 4.6/5 rating on Trustpilot. Reviewers praised the company for being helpful and providing onboarding and employee management solutions. Others were happy that Bambee was taking care of payroll, and they were confident that using the platform would keep them compliant.
However, there were complaints about Bambee’s payroll service—namely that the platform needed improvement and that payroll managers were unresponsive. Another common complaint was that Bambee’s HR managers kept changing or leaving the company, meaning clients had to describe their businesses afresh to their replacements.
How Bambee HR Works
Bambee HR connects your small business with a certified, dedicated HR manager, who will help create or update HR policies, manage your workforce, and perform HR audits to keep your business compliant with regulations. The HR manager will also draft job descriptions, onboard new employees, and provide coaching on terminating workers.
The Bambee HR platform is easy to navigate with clearly labeled menus, giving it a good score on user experience. You can speak to your HR manager via phone and email, or through live chat on the platform, to address emergent concerns. Job descriptions, background checks, employee agreements, and company policies are all available on the platform in digitized form so you or the HR manager can update them when necessary.
You’ll also get access to the Bambee Guided Payroll add-on. This enables you to pay employees faster through its two-day direct deposit solution. I like that it’s customizable: you can set different payments for employees who have several roles in your company, for example. You can also automate calculating taxes.
How To Get Started With Bambee HR
To get started, click on the “Try Now” button on the Homepage or use the on-screen menu prompting you with the “Let’s see how we can help” message. These options will direct you to a new page where you’ll input your company name.
Next, provide your ZIP code to help Bambee determine the HR policies your business should adopt in your location. Then, select which industry you belong to. I found this process to be clear-cut, even for beginners.
With those details now captured, you’ll fill out an online contact form with your full name, business email, phone number, and how you heard about the company. This information will create your new account, after you agree to the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
You can then set up your profile, and Bambee HR will assign you a dedicated HR manager experienced in your industry and location. The platform is straightforward to use, but you can contact customer support if you have any questions.
Bambee HR Customer Service
You can talk to an HR expert by phone on 844-398-9400, Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm (PT). You can also schedule an overview call via the website to learn what Bambee HR can do for your business.
Other methods of customer service contact are via email and live chat. I found emails took a couple of hours to get an answer, whereas live chat was just a few minutes. The latter only connected me to a schedule coordinator, who was friendly but couldn’t answer any product queries. The coordinator will, however, connect you to a product expert for a 15-minute phone discussion of your needs.
On the website, there’s further supporting documentation in the form of very detailed FAQs and a blog with articles covering topics like HR auditing, HR policies and procedures, and employee onboarding. You’ll also find videos explaining the service and other related content on Bambee’s YouTube channel.
How To Cancel or Pause a Bambee HR Subscription
You can cancel Bambee HR’s monthly or annual subscriptions anytime by logging into your account and submitting a cancellation request to customer support. The cancellation will be effective at the end of the subscription period, and you can continue using the service until that time. There are no refunds for partially-used monthly and annual subscriptions.
New customers can cancel their annual or monthly subscription within 30 days and receive a full refund.
Is There a Bambee HR App?
Bambee HR doesn’t have a mobile app but a web-based one to log into and access your profile.
Bambee HR Pricing
How Much Does Bambee HR Cost?
Bambee HR’s pricing is based on the number of employees your company has. There are eight plans to consider, billed either month-to-month or annually.
The base price of $99 per month is for businesses that haven’t yet hired a single employee. Unlike the other plans, this 1st tier gives you access to basic features, doesn’t have a setup fee, and is designed to help you hire your 1st recruit in compliance with state and federal regulations.
The 2nd and 3rd tiers are for 1-4 employees and 5-19 employees, respectively. The two plans enable you to build confidence as you begin recruiting people to your business. The 4th and 5th tiers are for growing your team, with 20-49 and 50-99 employees, respectively.
Once you get to the 6th and 7th tiers, it’s all about being HR compliant and creating harmony inside your business. These are for teams with 100-149 and 150-249 members, respectively.
The final tier is for 250+ employees and requires custom pricing to help you build a cohesive and compliant team.

The plans above are tailored to your number of employees, and you can switch to a higher or lower tier depending on your needs. If you hire new employees exceeding your current tier, you must pay a pro-rated fee for the remaining billing period, and the next billing period will renew at the new tier price.
The average industry price varies widely because some HR software companies use pay-per-employee/per-month pricing models while others use one-time payments. Prices can range from $0 to $100,000, but Bambee’s flat-rate model can make it cheaper than other options.
What can you do with Bambee HR for free?
Bambee HR doesn’t offer a free trial. Instead, it has a low entry subscription price of $99 per month to acquaint you with the basics of the service.
Optional add-ons
As a Bambee client, you’ll get an optional add-on—Bambee Guided Payroll—with built-in HR support. It enables you to pay employees faster with a two-day direct deposit, and it automatically handles local, state, and federal taxes. Contact Sales for pricing information.

Bambee HR vs Gusto
Gusto is an award-winning company with a pricing model that may take its cost higher than Bambee, which uses a flat-rate model. Bambee does charge a one-time setup fee, whereas Gusto doesn’t. Bambee is geared toward HR guidance, while Gusto is more focused on payroll features, such as next-day deposit. This is faster than Bambee’s two-day direct deposit offer.
Bambee HR vs monday.com
monday.com is designed to manage employees and attract top talent to a company, whereas Bambee offers HR and employee management and payroll solutions. monday.com doesn’t have a payroll solution, and its per-user, per-month model can be costlier than Bambee’s. Neither monday.com nor Bambee offers benefits administration.
Bambee HR vs Rippling
Unlike Bambee HR’s approach of providing HR guidance to clients, Rippling focuses on workforce management. It opts for a per-user, per-month cost rather than a flat-rate pricing model, and has extra fees for services like creating an employee handbook. Rippling has a free setup compared to Bambee’s one-time fee, and it also offers mobile apps, while Bambee has none. However, Bambee offers to deposit salaries within two days, whereas Rippling takes four days.
Bottom Line (Is Bambee HR Worth It?)
Bambee HR has many unique human resources and payroll management features, such as support from a dedicated HR manager and an easy-to-use platform. I was impressed that it not only helps small business clients but also empowers employees through features like Employee Voices, enabling them to share insights or highlight their concerns.
Nevertheless, it lacks a mobile app, and online complaints have revealed that HR managers may switch around or leave altogether, forcing you to build a relationship with a new manager. Despite these issues, Bambee HR has competitive pricing and features, so it’s worth considering for your HR and payroll needs.
