What’s Unique About Kettlebell Kitchen?
Kettlebell Kitchen was launched in 2012 by two brothers who were looking to eat healthy, nutritious food and weren’t satisfied by the options they had. So they decided to create their own meals, and meals for others as well. The company started with 5 gyms signed on as partners, where Kettlebell meals could be delivered for pickup.
Since then, the company has grown but its goal has remained the same—to create delicious meals to help people achieve their fitness and nutrition goals. Kettlebell is unique in that it offers 10 very specific plans, including plans for different kinds of athletes or plans that suit different diets.
While each plan is different, there are certain constants that are the same. All meals:
- Are dairy and soy-free
- Contain no artificial ingredients or sweeteners
- Are gluten-free (though the kitchen is not certified as gluten-free)
All poultry used by Kettlebell is raised without hormones and antibiotics, beef is grass-fed, and vegetables are fresh and sourced locally when possible. You’ll find a lot of meals that contain coconut oil, gluten-free grains, and non-dairy milk substitutes.
How It Works
Kettlebell Kitchen tells you to choose a goal—weight loss, eating healthy, fueling up for a workout, and more—then, based on your goal, you choose the meals that will help you achieve that goal. Goal-oriented meals and plans are designed by Kettlebell’s registered dieticians, and you get to decide which meals appeal to you most and how many meals you want per week.
Plans can be canceled or paused at any time, as long as you do so before midnight on Wednesday.
If you prefer to order a la carte meals from the Kettlebell menu without setting a goal, you can— but you’ll be missing out on Kettlebell’s true specialty, which is helping people achieve their nutrition and fitness goals. A la carte meals that you select are delivered once; your order won’t recur, but you can order as many times as you like.
Kettlebell offers deliveries at the beginning of the week and in the middle of the week. Depending on your location, your beginning-of-the-week delivery will come on Sunday or Monday, and your mid-week delivery will come on Wednesday or Thursday.
Meals can be delivered to your home or to your gym; Kettlebell partners with hundreds of gyms across the country that have a Kettlebell refrigerator in which they store meals until you pick them up. This best meal delivery service is free when ordered to a gym, but when ordered to your home there is a minimal delivery fee.
The food arrives in insulated bags and ice packs, all of which are recyclable. You can pop your meal into the microwave and it will be ready to eat in minutes.
Meal Options
Kettlebell offers 10 meal plan options, first and foremost based on your nutrition and fitness goals. All meals are designed by nutritionists and cooked by professional chefs.
Plans include Slim, Burn, Build, Perform, Endure, Vegetarian, Flexitarian, Pure Paleo, Complete Keto, and Whole 30. The first 5 deal with fitness goals while the latter 5 are more about nutrition and lifestyle.
Ingredients are sourced as locally as possible, and all poultry and pork is raised without hormones and antibiotics. The beef used by Kettlebell is grass-fed and the fish is wild-caught.
All meals are soy-free and dairy-free and all ingredients are naturally gluten-free, though Kettlebell does not have gluten-free certification. Meals stay fresh for 3-5 days in your refrigerator but can also be frozen if you wish to retain freshness.
When choosing meals, there is a medium and large option. Medium meals contain 4-4.5 ounces of protein and 6-8 ounces of veggies/sides, whereas large meals contain 6-7 ounces of protein and 10-12 ounces of veggies/sides. The large meals are geared toward athletes who need to fuel up for their workouts.

There are 10 meal plans to choose from, so there is something for everyone. While Kettlebell does offer meal plans to suit different diets—like keto or paleo—the company’s philosophy doesn’t focus on what you can’t eat. Rather, it focuses on eating foods that are good for your body and that can help you get where you want to go.
