Overview

SNHU offers more than 200 online degrees and 1,700 courses to choose from in 14 areas of study, including accounting and finance, business, healthcare, engineering, technology and nursing.

SNHU offers multiple term starts—six undergraduate terms and five graduate terms per year. Undergraduate terms are eight weeks long, while graduate terms are ten weeks long.

Classes and courses take place completely online through your student portal and are divided into weekly modules. SNHU courses have no set class times, so you have the flexibility of studying and working on assignments and modules at your own pace and on your own schedule.

How SNHU’s Online Degree Programs Work

SNHU offers plenty of flexibility. You can apply at any time and choose between more than 200 degrees to choose from. Programs are divided in terms. You have up to six term starts throughout the year to choose from. Undergraduate terms run for eight weeks and graduate terms run for 10 weeks.

SNHU’s online courses can be taken at any time and accessed through your computer, tablet, or mobile device from anywhere. Through your online account, you can access your learning modules, scheduled assignments, discussion boards, and any announcements from your instructors.

Each course is broken down into weekly modules and each module includes all the different assignments you’ll have to complete that week, including discussion board posts and quizzes. Most weeks, there will be an assigned discussion prompt you’ll have to participate in. 

Occasionally you’ll also have a larger project, such as a paper or a group project, which can also be completed and submitted online. After you submit your assignments, you receive feedback and a grade from your instructor.

All classes offer 24/7 online student services, where you can access the library, tech, academic, and student support.

How to apply to SNHU

You start by completing an online application through SNHU’s secure admission portal. After you complete your application, an admission counselor will contact you to discuss your goals and match you with the right degree. They will also help you explore credit transfers and consider any tuition funding options, including military or employer discounts, grants, and loans you may be eligible for.

Upon submitting your application you’ll also have to complete an attestation form, confirming that you have graduated from high school or received a GED if you’re applying for an undergraduate degree. If you’re applying for a graduate degree, you’ll have to confirm your undergraduate GPA and conferral date.

Prerequisites

If you’re applying for an undergraduate degree, you need to have graduated from high school or received a GED. SNHU has no GPA requirements for undergraduate admission.

For graduate admission a minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75 is required for full acceptance or 2.00 for provisional acceptance.

Cost

SNHU has one of the lowest tuition rates in the country. 

• $300 per credit for undergraduate degrees

• $637 per credit for graduate degrees

• No undergraduate or graduate application fees

• Most SNHU’s bachelor’s degrees require 120 credit hours, bringing the total cost of an undergraduate degree to $39,600
