Overview
Is ESPN+ Safe and Reliable?
ESPN as a whole currently has 492 reviews on Trustpilot, 93% of which rate the service as “Bad”. Not all the reviews relate to ESPN+ specifically, but those that do mention a lot of buffering when trying to watch livestreams. ESPN, Inc has a D- rating on the Better Business Bureau due to failure to respond to complaints. If you’re thinking of taking out an ESPN+ subscription, it’s worth being aware of these ratings.
How ESPN+ Works
An ESPN+ subscription gives you access to live sports events and original content that’s not available on the normal ESPN networks. You can’t watch traditional ESPN channels with this subscription; you would need to get this through your cable, satellite, or digital TV service. So, ESPN+ can either function as a standalone specialist sports subscription, or as an addition to your existing TV package.
Through ESPN+, you’ll be able to watch live events for soccer, combat, baseball, tennis, golf, college sports, and more. It covers both domestic and international leagues, including MLB, Wimbledon, Bundesliga, and NHL. If you miss a match, you can check out the on-demand replay.
You can also watch exclusive UFC pay-per-view events, stream ESPN+ original TV content, stream live sports talk and daily studio shows, and read over 3,000 premium sports articles.
How to Sign Up for ESPN+
To set up your ESPN+ subscription, either sign in with your existing ESPN login or create a new one. You can stream ESPN+ through the ESPN app on Apple, Android, or Amazon Fire devices, or on Roku, Samsung Smart TV, Chromecast, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Oculus Go.
If you buy the Disney+ Bundle, you won’t be able to watch all 3 services (ESPN+, Disney+, and Hulu) through the same app. Once you purchase the Bundle and have downloaded the relevant apps, you will immediately be able to watch Disney+ and ESPN+. However, you’ll need to activate your Hulu subscription separately via an email link.
ESPN+ Customer Support
You can find a short FAQ on the ESPN+ website, as well as a more thorough help center with answers to a range of questions. If you need further support, you can contact customer service between 9am and 1pm EST, seven days a week, by chat, phone, or email.
Is There a ESPN+ App?
ESPN+ doesn’t have its own separate app, but you can watch its live events and original content through a section on the main ESPN app (which is free to download). Streaming through the app is high definition (HD). If you have an ESPN subscription, you can use the app to watch the live events and shows from that network in addition to those included in ESPN+.The ESPN app is currently rated 4.1/5 on Google Play and 4/6.5 on iOS.

How Much Does ESPN+ Cost?
If you want to subscribe to ESPN+, there’s a single fee of $9.99 a month, or an annual, discounted fee of $99.99. In return, you get access to thousands of live-streamed sports events, including exclusives, plus ESPN original productions.
If you’re looking for more TV content, you can bundle Disney+ and Hulu into your subscription for just $14.99 a month. This expanded bundle will give you access to these channels and their vast digital libraries of TV and movie content. You’re not tied into a contract and can cancel your subscription at any time. ESPN+ doesn’t come with any optional add-ons, but can itself function as an add-on for your existing TV plan with traditional ESPN.
Bottom Line
As a sports fan, you’re probably already familiar with the ESPN brand. ESPN+ gives you even more live-streaming opportunities and original sports content, without needing a huge and expensive TV package. Or, you can add ESPN+ to indulge your love of sports even more. With simultaneous streaming on up to 3 devices, you can share this with the family and watch on a wide range of phones, tablets, and smart TVs.
Although you should be aware of some poor customer reviews, if you’re a particular fan of the leagues and fixtures included in ESPN+ (like MLB, NHL, or international tennis tournaments and soccer leagues), this could be a great addition to your collection of streaming services. And if you have a family, the Disney+ Bundle could save you a lot by giving you access to Disney+ and Hulu in addition. That should keep the household entertained for hours.
